Burke County Inmate Search & Jail Records

The Burke County Sheriff's Office operates and manages the central jail infrastructure in Burke County. Individuals apprehended on alleged state or local criminal offenses are typically transported to the detention facility for booking, which generates certain administrative records (jail records). The Sheriff maintains the jail records and provides access via an inmate search to members of the public.

The Sheriff's Office does not provide a web-based inmate search portal for access to jail records. Instead, persons seeking current custody or booking information should call the Sheriff's Office designated jail inquiry line at (828) 764-9590.

All inmate visitation occurs by video on-site or remotely through the designated digital vendor's visitation system.

Visitation is mapped according to an inmate's assigned housing unit:

  • A Block and B Block: Saturdays.
  • C Block and D Block: Sundays.
  • E Block and F Block: Tuesdays.
  • G Block and J Block: Thursdays.

Available scheduling times are 7:15 a.m. - 8:45 a.m., 9:15 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., 1:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m., or 8:15 p.m. - 8:45 p.m., based on an inmate's scheduled recreation time.
